If you’re someone who experiences discomfort, soreness, or aching in your knees while performing physical activities, you’re not alone. Knee pain is a common issue that affects millions of people worldwide, and it can be caused by a variety of factors such as injury, overuse, or underlying medical conditions. Dealing with knee pain can be frustrating, especially if it limits your ability to engage in activities you enjoy.
So, whether you’re an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or just someone looking for relief, this video is for you. Here’s what we offer at the practice, which we go over in the video:
- Hip Control Test
- Ankle Examination
- Knee Examination
- Range of Motion Exam
- Muscle Tone and Tension Exam
These tests do not necessarily direct us toward exactly what is going on; they tend to show us more of trends that are happening in the body and patterns that could be causes of knee pain. They also are helpful to give us an idea of any mechanical or structural issues within the body.
Treatment Options
Here are some approaches we use to address patients’ discomfort:
- ART (Active Release Technique) or dry needling to alleviate knee pain
- Knee adjustment using a speeder board to correct motion issues (internal or external rotation)
- Monitoring and adjusting other areas that contribute to knee pain, such as hips, ankles, low back, and feet
- DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization) for advanced knee stabilization exercises with proper movement control
Next time, we will go over a warmup that you can use to help with your knee pain.
